Alan Kelly previously worked as a Bank Official and as the manager of an IT training centre where he developed, administered and delivered training courses to various adult groups. He has a Bachelor of Business (Hons), MSc in Computing and Information Systems and an MA in Digital Media in Education. He has worked in ATU Sligo for over twenty years with his main subject areas being Digital Marketing, Digital Media and ICT. During that time Alan has been programme chair of the BSc in Creative Media & Web Development, Bachelor of Business in Digital Marketing programme and more recently the MSc in Digital Business. He is currently in his final year of a Doctorate of Business Administration looking at the influence of technology on customer experience.
Alan has supervised numerous masters dissertations in areas such as social media marketing, e-mail marketing, video marketing, CSR, marketing analytics, digital branding and digital marketing. Currently Alan is in his final year of his Doctorate which looks at the influence of technology on prospective student’s customer experience when they are selecting their higher education course. These technologies include websites, social media, virtual tours and online Q&A chatbots. Alan is also in the process of writing academic journal articles around this topic.
