John Caty (PhD) is a lecturer in the Galway International Hotel School, ATU Galway. John has a background working in the tourism, hospitality and event industries. John teaches marketing, public relations and strategy to tourism, hospitality, and event management students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
John’s research interests include, work-based learning, tourism stakeholder attitudes, festival and event engagement, higher education policy and planning, sustainability, rural tourism and tourism impacts. John is a Fellow of the Irish Hospitality Institute and member of Skal International.
John is also a Principle Investigator with the Sustainable Tourism and Visitor Experience Lab (STORY at ATU).
